1. Organization of camps 2025
We discussed organization of the 2025 camps season in relation to Zuzka and Josh Nelson's planned stay at Home Assignment during next summer. We have decided with Zuzka to keep only the first 2 of the traditional 3 camp dates and would like to encourage missionaries from other departments to actively participate in the 2025 camps. Please be prepared to be asked for help.
2. Recruiting new missionaries
We have created a list of the positions we would need to recruit to be able to meet the goals in the 2024-26 Strategic Plan. We have shared tips on specific people and have set up meetings with some of them. We will go back to the topic of recruitment regularly at our monthly all-day Leadership Team meetings. If you have any tips for new missionaries to join the KAM team (for admin support, regional staff with youth leadership experience, or people with management skills), please let know Kača K.
3. Indicators of progress in the Strategic Plan
We returned to the question of how to track whether we are meeting the Strategický plán KAM na období 2024-2026. The main indicator for us will be tracking the shift of the youth we work with from Phase 1-2 to 3-4. Records of the shifts will be kept by regional and program staff and will be reviewed semi-annually within the Leadership Team and with individual teams as part of the semi-annual ministry evaluation. Michal Soukup has taken on the responsibility of system completion.
4. CCC donation distribution
We have decided to split the donation from our partner US church CCC between the different ministry areas of KAM. The gift of 2,200,000Kč is for the next 3 years to support the implementation of the main goal from the Strategic Plan - moving youth towards missional openness. We are collecting stories from youth where this goal is being met so that we can connect CCC and other donors to the fruit of our ministry through them.
5. Preparing for annual ministry evaluation
The second day of our retreat was dedicated to preparing for the June ministry evaluations with the entire teams. As part of these we would like to give you feedback on your service and hear your feedback. You can think about your answers to the questions in advance:
- How do you feel about the ministry you do within KAM?
- What do you think has worked well and what hasn't worked well in your ministry area/team over the past six months?
And since it's getting close to summer time, I'll also use this mailing for some holiday reminders:
- Set aside time before your vacation to communicate anything urgent, go through emails, deal with the urgent stuff, and delegate responsibilities to other people on the team.
- During your absence, always set up an auto-response to emails stating when you are unavailable and who can be contacted during that time.
- Managers, put planned vacations on your calendars and invite kam@kam.cz. Ask others on your teams who need to communicate with people across KAM to do the same.
- Enjoy the holidays as a time of relaxation and don't work at all! Don't look at emails, don't answer phones, don't work on projects. Read a book you enjoy.
