The Leadership Team ("LT") meets twice a month, once for a 2-hour operational Zoom and the second time for a full-day in-person strategy meeting. Below you will find information and conclusions from the May meeting.
1. Leadership challenge - follow up
We spent the opening hour of the full day meeting recapping the first area from the Leadership Challenge training we completed: Model the way / Be an example. Following on from this topic, each LT member set themselves a development challenge to focus on for the next month. We would like to work together to build a culture of healthy and value-driven leadership.
2. Terms of Reference for internal KAM actions 2024/2025
We have decided to continue with a similar schedule of KAM events as this year, both because it makes sense to us overall and because most of you expressed satisfaction with it in the KAM Feedback Questionnaire. We have decided to make the following partial adjustments:
- We want to loosen up the Good Morning Info program to allow more time for sharing testimonies and info from ministries.
- This time we will not be offering a prepared discussion topic to the groups as part of Good Morning Family. Each group chooses what concept they would like. Following the suggestions from the KAM Feedback Questionnaire, we want to give more space for personal spiritual recharge and growth for the Kamaks. Possible focus of the Good Morning Family:
- Sharing from personal life and ministry and prayer,
- Personal development & spiritual development (M+ style group)
- Bible study group.
Before the start of the new school year, we want to discuss more about the purpose and possibilities of these meetings with the leaders who will take on the leadership of Good Morning Family next year.
We are planning a separate concept meeting for internal training (staff development) in June.
3. The topic of staff development at the KAM Autumn Conference
We have set the main theme for staff development at the KAM Autumn Conference: Multiple cultures, one team. The theme was repeated several times in your suggestions in the KAM Feedback Questionnaire. We will ask Lucka Mészáros to develop this topic in collaboration with a team consisting of both 1st and 2nd culture representatives. We would like to reflect on our coexistence as a multicultural team, to contribute to greater mutual understanding, respect and appreciation, as well as an awareness of how the diversity within our team can be used to benefit our ministry to young leaders in Czech churches. We will also ask the preparation team to prepare a packet of handouts on the main conference theme for volunteers to prepare in advance.
4. Staffing Camps 2025
Due to Zuzka and Josh Nelson's planned home assignment in the summer of 2025, we need to secure the 2025 summer camp season in advance. Zuzka Nelson presented possible options to the Leadership Team, of which we leaned towards only holding camps on the first 2 dates next year. At the same time, the Camps team asked to be able to reach out to more KAM missionaries for help with securing Camps 2025. Zuzka was asked to prepare a list of tasks people could help with.
5. Follow up on the KAM feedback questionnaire
We have been going through the different questions and suggestions we received from you as part of the KAM Feedback Questionnaire. We have agreed that LT members will respond to some of these personally to specific people. We have added other suggestions to a list of priority topics that we will be discussing progressively throughout the year as part of the LT agenda.
6. How to record a missionary's participation in a camp organized outside KAM
A missionary can record as time for KAM not only a camp organized by KAM (e.g. Highway Camp) or in cooperation with KAM (e.g. Fusion Camp, English Camp), but also another, primarily outreach, camp that is not in cooperation with KAM, but where the KAM missionary goes as a minister. The Uplink approves the missionary's attendance at the camp, including the hourly allotment allotted for the missionary's participation. The hourly allotment should primarily reflect the missionary's level of active involvement and responsibility at the camp. |
