As already announced, on the 5th of April 2024, Dušan Drabina will hand over the role of Director to Kuba Vejmělka. We consider it advantageous that the decision to execute this handover was made well in advance. Therefore, it is possible to prepare for it gradually and make the changes smoothly.

We have attached a video from the Autumn Conference where Dušan commented on the KAM leadership handover from his perspective. Below, you will find an overview of the 3 phases of the transition.

• Phase 1 (May – August 2023)
  • The decision was made by the KAM Board of Trustees on the change of Director as of April 2024
    
  • The decision was communicated to management and the KAM team
    
  • The Strategic Plan for 2024-2026 was developed
    
  • Karel Hennhofer left KAM (on the 30th of June), we began searching for his replacement.
    
• Phase 2 (September – December 2023)
  
  • Kuba is leading the ExTeam, and other leaders will be gradually invited into the ExTeam meetings
    
  • Kuba, along with Dusan, participated in JV Council
    
  • Pavlína Bujoková is now the top responsible manager for Education
    
  • Michal Soukup will be the head of the KAM Regional Service as of the 1st of November
    
• Phase 3 (January – April 2024)
  
  • As of the 1st of January, Kuba will lead the KAM team and will be the uplink for Kevin, Míša, Radka, and Martina
    
  • Dusan will remain as Kuba's uplink
    
  • As of the 1st of January, Michal will be Greg and Ben's uplink
    
  • As of the 1st of January, Míša Toušková will be responsible for administrative support for Kuba (she will have access to Kuba's calendar and inbox), Helča Ukropcová will move to Programs and will no longer be Kuba's assistant
    
  • Radka Šticová will be appointed as the Deputy Director and Statutory Officer responsible for Finance on the 1st of January (The Board of Trustees will still need to approve this appointment)
    
  • Milan Szturc will be appointed Deputy Director and Statutory Officer, responsible for outreach programs as of the 5th of April (The Board of Trustees will still need to approve this appointment)
    
  • From the 25th of January to the 8th of March, Kuba will be with his family in the USA (establishing contact with key partners, fundraising)
    
  • As of April, KAM will be led by a leadership team consisting of Kuba Vejmělka, Kevin Dickson, Milan Szturc, Radka Šticová, Míša Toušková, Pavlína Bujoková, Michal Soukup, and Kača Kabut
    
  • On the 5th of April, that is, after the official transition at the Annual Conference, Kuba will fully enter the role of KAM Director

At the KAM Autumn Conference, we had the opportunity to present the KAM Strategic Plan for the three-year period of 2024-2026. You can find it in written form HERE. Building on this plan, we are finalizing with leaders the development of 2024 Annual Activity Plans for individual services so that each service area and each staff member contributes in their specific way to the shared goals:

• to increase the number of missionally open youth groups,
  
• to increase the number of youth groups with whom we have an intense relationship that will enable us to accompany and develop them in this direction.
