First of all, I would like to thank you for your faithful service throughout the school year. Each of you, in your specific gifts and roles, has been a part of the support we can collectively provide to young leaders and youth. For a summary of the events that took place during the spring, please see the Spring KAM News. Below is a list of KAM summer activities that we would ask you to remember in your prayers.

As the ExTeam, we would like to thank you for completing the KAM Feedback Questionnaires, which are an important overview of the KAM team and a source of useful suggestions and comments. You can find the evaluated KAM Feedback Questionnaire, and on the KAM Hub you will also find a recording of today's Good Morning Info, where we as ExTeam had the opportunity to reflect on the results of the questionnaire. We plan to revisit selected suggestions at future ExTeam meetings or in personal conversations with you.

At the end of the school year, we will have a series of mid-year service reviews with Programs, Regions, Training, and Background leaders, as well as a leaders' meeting on June 21st after the Garden Party. As the ExTeam, we are planning a 2-day retreat that will give us more focused time for strategic issues, and also to complete the 2024-26 Strategic Plan. We will present this plan to the leaders and then to the KAM team. Part of the ExTeam's agenda will include topics related to succession and planned changes in KAM leadership: Karel H. is leaving the role of Statutory Director as of July 1st, 2023, and the role of KAM Director will pass from Dusan D. to Kuba V. as of April 5th, 2024 – see the letter from the chairman of the Board of Trustees here. We also see this topic as an important challenge for the coming school year.

Outgoing workers

• In June, Karel Hennhofer will bid us farewell after 15 years with KAM. Barča Kilnarová and Vítek Maňásek will also end their cooperation
• At the end of August, Hanka Martináková will say goodbye to us after more than 10 years.

Changes

• Danča Dickson has taken over the leadership of EXIT
  
• Geoff Hammond is focusing on ministry in schools and in the Ustí region
  
• Danča Dickson is the new manager for Lukáš Macura
  
• Zuzka Kittlová has moved from the EXIT team to the Training team

New staff

• Šárka Šorfová joined the Finance team in March
• Since March, Mája Fikoczková has been helping to launch The Chosen project and continues to organize aid to Ukrainians through the Yellow and Blue Fund.

Internal events 2023/24

Based on the overwhelmingly positive feedback that we received on internal events through the KAM Feedback Survey, we will continue with a similar concept of events for KAM staff over the next school year:

  • Autumn KAM Conference 2in1 (24.-25.10.2023)

  • Spring KAM Conference 4in1 (3.-5.4.2024)
    i.e. Obývák, Staff Development, Teambuilding, Annual Conference
    
  • Garden Party (18.6.2024);
    (The Autumn KAM Conference and Garden Party will be followed by meetings for KAM leaders.)
    
• 5x Good Morning Info (via Zoom) - informative meeting
• 5x Good Morning Family (in regional groups) - community meeting with discussion on the topic of Discipleship

We expect all KAM staff to attend these events with the exception of Lane 1 moms.

  • JV Fall Conference (September 25th - 29th, 2023) on the topic of Mental Health - We will refine the list of expected/invited personnel. Be thinking now of leaders you are working with that you could invite to this event.
    
  • JV Thanksgiving (November 22nd - 24th, 2023) - 2nd culture only
  • JV Spring Conference (May 1st - 5th, 2024) - 2nd culture only

Internal training KAM 2023/24

In an effort to respond to your feedback and the diversity of the KAM team, we are coming up with a new concept for internal training. The training will now be divided into training levels (based on the length of involvement in KAM) and will have a slightly modified format.

As part of Staff Development, we will offer all staff:

• 2x Staff Development Day (in connection with the Autumn and Spring KAM Conferences) → joint meetings covering a more complex topic
  
• 4x Learning Communities (2x physically during Staff Development Day and 2x online) → shorter meetings, according to learning levels, covering a development topic
  
• Field trip for Seniors and Veterans.
  

As a part of Leadership Development, we are preparing the following for the KAM leaders:

• Autumn 2-day Leadership Challenge training (we will send info and tasks in advance)
  
• Spring Leadership Development meeting (before the Spring KAM conference)
  

Milan and Míša have created a new resource, The Manual for event management, in which they have summarized their experience and background in the field of event management. We would like to thank especially Milan for making available his years of know-how from the organization of events, which has been tested many times (not only) within the KAM company. You can use the manual both internally at KAM and offer it to the young leaders you work with. It is available here.
